Diseases Treated
Asthma; Nasal polyposis; Allergic rhinitis; Drug allergy; Food allergy; Urticaria; Atopic dermatitis; Anaphylaxis; Mastocytosis; Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA)
Medical Areas of Interest
Allergology, particularly:
- Respiratory allergic diseases, such as allergic rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis (especially with nasal polyps), and asthma. Special interest in non-invasive evaluation of airway inflammation (using methods like fractional exhaled nitric oxide—FeNO—and nasal cytology) and in personalized and precision therapies such as allergen-specific immunotherapy and biological drugs.
- Cutaneous allergic diseases, including chronic urticaria, atopic dermatitis, and allergic contact dermatitis. Particular interest in innovative therapeutic approaches, such as the use of biological drugs.
- Systemic allergic manifestations, such as anaphylaxis, food allergy, drug allergy, and allergy to hymenoptera venom.
- Rare diseases in the field of allergology, such as systemic mastocytosis and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA, formerly known as Churg-Strauss Syndrome).
Research Areas of Interest
- Severe asthma: phenotyping and endotyping, underlying immunological mechanisms, and biological therapies
- Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps: phenotyping and endotyping, underlying immunological mechanisms, and biological therapies
- Non-invasive assessment of airway inflammation: measurement of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), nasal cytology
- Real-life studies on chronic allergic and respiratory diseases
- Anaphylaxis
- Mastocytosis
- EGPA (Churg-Strauss Syndrome)
- Drug allergy
