\u0160ta je hrom?<\/h2>\n

Hrom je mineral koji je neophodan za normalno funkcionisanje organizma. Iako se u telu nalazi u veoma malim koli\u010dinama, hrom igra klju\u010dnu ulogu u odr\u017eavanju normalnog nivoa \u0161e\u0107era u krvi jer je zadu\u017een za regulisanje nivoa insulina u telu. Insulin je hormon koji telo lu\u010di kako bi pretvorilo \u0161e\u0107er i druge hranljive materije u energiju koja je neophodna za normalno funkcionisanje. Postoji nekoliko razli\u010ditih vrsta hroma koje se mogu na\u0107i u prirodi, a najzastupljenija je vrsta koja se naziva biolo\u0161ki aktivni trovalentni hrom.<\/p>\n

Koja je funkcija hroma?<\/h2>\n

Jedna od najva\u017enijih uloga hroma u telu je podsticanje proizvodnje insulina. Hrom tako\u0111e direktno u\u010destvuje u procesu metabolisanja ugljenih hidrata, proteina i masti. Kod ljudi koji ne proizvode dovoljno insulina, kao na primer dijabeti\u010dara, \u010desto se prepisuju suplementi hroma kako bi se snizio nivo \u0161e\u0107era u krvi. Ukoliko se poremeti normalna funkcija insulina u telu dolazi do nagomilavanja glukoze, odnosno \u0161e\u0107era, u krvnim sudovima.<\/p>\n

Koje namirnice su bogate hromom?<\/h2>\n

Iako se hrom mo\u017ee na\u0107i u velikom broju namirnica, uglavnom je prisutan u izuzetno malim koli\u010dinama. Neke od namirnica koje su bogate hromom su meso, cela zrna \u017eitarica, za\u010dini, sirevi, odre\u0111ene vrste vo\u0107a poput jabuka, banana i pomorand\u017ei, kao i odre\u0111ene vrste povr\u0107a, i to brokoli i gra\u0161ak. Namirnice koje sadr\u017ee veliku koli\u010dinu jednostavnih \u0161e\u0107era uglavnom imaju veoma malu koli\u010dinu hroma.<\/p>\n

Koja je preporu\u010dena dnevna doza hroma?<\/h2>\n

Za sada ne postoji dovoljno podataka koji bi odredili ta\u010dnu preporu\u010denu dnevnu dozu hroma. Me\u0111utim, odbor za ishranu pri Institutu za Medicinu u Sjedinjenim Ameri\u010dkim Dr\u017eavama odredio je adekvatan unos hroma koji ne neophodan za odr\u017eavanje normalnog zdravlja. Preporu\u010deni dnevni unos hroma zna\u010dajno varira u odnosu na starost i pol pacijenata. U odre\u0111enim slu\u010dajevima, poput perioda trudno\u0107e ili dojenja, preporu\u010dena dnevna doza hroma tako\u0111e se pove\u0107ava. Preporu\u010duje se unos oko 0.2 mikrograma hroma dnevno za odoj\u010dad starosti do 6 meseci, a 45 mikrograma za trudnice. Odrasle osobe osobe u proseku treba da unose oko 30 miligrama hroma svaki dan.<\/p>\n

Koje su posledice nedostatka hroma u telu?<\/h2>\n

Simptomi koji se javljaju kao posledica nedostatka hroma u telu, i to smanjena intolerancija na glukozu i pove\u0107ana potro\u0161nja insulina, veoma su sli\u010dni simptomima dijabetesa tipa 2. Rizik od smanjenog nivoa hroma u telu pove\u0107ava se kod starijih ljudi, ljudi koji konzumiraju veliku koli\u010dinu namirnica bogatih \u0161e\u0107erom, ljudi koji preoptere\u0107uju telo prilikom fizi\u010dkih aktivnosti kao i trudnica. Nizak nivo hroma u telu tako\u0111e mo\u017ee dovesti i do sni\u017eavanja nivoa \u0161e\u0107era u krvi, povi\u0161enog nivoa holesterola u krvi i pove\u0107ati rizik od razvijanja dijabetesa i sr\u010danih oboljenja.<\/p>\n

Koje su posledice preteranog unosa hroma?<\/h2>\n

Za sada ne postoje dokazi koji bi povezali preterani unos hroma sa posledicama opasnim po zdravlje \u010doveka. Zbog toga i dalje ne postoji jasno definisana maksimalna dnevna doza hroma. Sa sigurno\u0161\u0107u se jedino mo\u017ee re\u0107i da izuzetno velike doze hroma mogu umanjiti sposobost insulina da reguli\u0161e nivo \u0161e\u0107era u krvi, i time izazvati iritacije u \u017eelucu kao i probleme sa jetrom.<\/p>\n

Da li hrom mo\u017ee spre\u010diti pojavu povi\u0161enog nivoa holesterola u krvi?<\/h2>\n

Iako postoje studije koje su povezale uzimanje suplemenata hroma za smanjenim nivoom holesterola tipa LDL, odnosno “lo\u0161eg” holesterola, a pove\u0107anjem nivoa holesterola tipa HDL, odnostno “dobrog” holesterola, dugoro\u010dni efekat ovog minerala na nivo holesterola i dalje nije u potpunosti potvr\u0111en.
