On the occasion of Christmas, the charity event organized by AYA (Adolescents and Young Adults), the project that Humanitas Cancer Center dedicates to young and adult cancer patients, or those between 16 and 39 years old who are facing a diagnosis of a malignant onco-haematological disease (including lymphomas, leukaemia, sarcomas, germ cell tumors, brain tumors), returns.

These diseases are the most common cause of death in industrialized societies, after homicides, suicides and accidents. Humanitas, in particular, has faced at least 300 new cases of young people every year in the last twenty years.

The AYA project follows and accompanies these patients not only from a clinical point of view, but also from a psycho-social one. In Humanitas, in fact, young people have a special room dedicated to them, where they can have breakfast with friends, watch a film, read a book or play video games. For them, there are also weekly cooking, photography, creative writing and tea courses.

Dinner in the splendid setting of Palazzina Appiani

The charity event is on December 18, at 19:30 in the spaces of the historic Palazzina Appiani in Parco Sempione (Milan), a jewel wanted by Napoleon as the grandstand of honor of the Civic Arena.

The Christmas charity dinner, organized by the Humanitas Foundation, will be held at Palazzina Appiani in Milan, Viale Byron 2. The proceeds of the evening will be entirely donated to the AYA project. During the evening there will also be a banquet for the sale of panettone and you can visit the historic building with a guide of the Italian Environment Fund.
