Professor Giuseppe Spriano is the Otorhinolaryngology Unit Director at Humanitas Research Hospital.

He is specialized in head and neck oncology, especially in nose-sinus, salivary glands, thyroid, larynx and pharynx, oral cavity, skin, face and orbit tumours, but more in general, of all the tumours originated above the clavicles (with the exception of brain tumours).

He has worked for 17 years at Humanitas Research Hospital, performing more than 550 surgeries per year.

Also, Professor Spriano performs oncological surgery maxillofacial, reconstructive surgery of head and neck, trans-oral robotic surgery, deafness surgery, functional nose surgery, corrective surgery for respiratory pathologies during sleep and inflammatory surgery of the maxillofacial area.

He carries out a constant clinical research, with a focus on the study of tumours markers of neck and head, therapeutic integration in oncology of neck and head, robotic surgeries for oropharyngeal and laryngeal neoplasms and minimally invasive techniques.

Professor Spriano is also active in scientific researches, studying the I, II, III phase in neck and head oncology and oncogenomics and epigenetics in neck and head oncology. He also studies the prognostic impact of microRNA in tumours of head and neck and also the validity and use of liquid biopsy in head and neck oncology.

Current Teaching Activity: he is full professor at Humanitas University of otorhinolaryngology at Medicine and Surgery Department.

Previously, he was professor in many Italian universities, such as Insubria University, La Sapienza University, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Pisa University and Brescia University.

Also, Professor Spriano has been chairman of the following Congresses:

  • Chairman European Congress ECHNO 2018 (European Head Neck Society);
  • Chairman World Congress IAOO 2019 (International Academy Oral Oncology);
  • Chairman World Congress IFHNOS 2022 (International Federation Head Neck Oncological Societies).

He is member of various associations:

  • SIO (Società Italiana di Otorinolaringoiatria) (2014-2015);
