Artificial Intelligence is making a significant contribution to improving performance and results even during endoscopic examinations such as colonoscopy.

We talked about it with Prof. Alessandro Repici, Head of the Digestive Endoscopy Unit at Humanitas and Professor of Gastroenterology at Humanitas University.

Artificial intelligence, such as applications in colonoscopy

“New technologies in endoscopy improve our ability to diagnose polypod lesions in particular because artificial intelligence has a much greater capacity than our eyes and minds to process, identify and classify possible lesions, both polypods and tumors,” the Professor clarified.

“Humanitas is also working to develop artificial intelligence systems that assist doctors during procedures to identify small and early polyps in order to achieve true colon prevention,” concluded Prof. Repici.
