“For his scientific contributions in the fields of immunology and oncology that led him to the absolute top of the world’s research and allowed him to make decisive contributions to improving the living conditions for many human beings.”

This is the motivation that accompanied the “Premio Roma for the development of the country” received by Professor Alberto Mantovani. He is the immunologist, scientific director of Humanitas and professor of Humanitas University.

 

What is Premio Roma?

The award ceremony took place Thursday, December 1st at the Protomoteca Hall in Campidoglio, in Rome. The “Premio Roma for the development of the country” is an annual award. It is awarded to individuals who have greatly contributed to the growth and prestige of Italy. The award covers a diverse field, from economics to the sciences, and from the social world to that of culture.

In addition to Professor Mantovani, Monica Mondardini was also awarded. As managing director of the CIR Group and Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso she received the “Special Award”. The awards were presented by Gigi Proietti, famous actor, director and voice actor in Italy.
