Q: What foods can I eat before undergoing cataract surgery?

A:  Fasting is required in order to undergo cataract surgery in a proper manner. If the surgery is scheduled for the morning, then fasting should last for at least 24 hours from the previous day. In cases where the surgery is set for the afternoon, you are allowed a cup of tea and two dry biscuits in the morning before the surgery from 7-7:30.
